Flickr Invites
I get as many flickr invites as I do Application requests on facebook…. But today’s flickr invite was out of the ordinary.
I declined.

Vehicle Cameras
Dashboard cameras have been in use for years by police officers. They are gaining popularity in the EMS and fire service also. Some are set to only record when emergency lights are activated and some constantly record anytime the vehicle is in drive. This video shows why some departments are opting for the later.
The vehicle being driven is an ambulance, with what looks to be a crew of two. Another websites say that their emergency lights/sirens are not activated, they are NOT on a call, and do not have a patient on board.
A lot of bigger city emergency vehicles already have computers on board for computer aided dispatching & GPS mapping systems. It doesn’t take much more for a department to add a camera, a some extra RAM & storage and a bit of software. A $1,000 system x 20 vehicles=$20,000 - that’s a fraction of one single lawsuit. And that $1,000 price tag is very generous, and can normally be done for less than that, and its dropping dramatically day by day.
Showing this one short video clip to a jury/judge takes away any question of who is at fault.
I would enjoy being one of the radio shop guys who installs all of the emergency vehicles equipment!
Mattress shopping
We started mattress shopping yesterday. Ive needed a new one for a while, apparently my old one was still under warranty until recently. OOPS. that would have been nice to know, even though they only pro-rate for a new one, which wouldn’t be much since it was 10 years ago, with a 10 year warranty.
What I’ve realized is MATTRESSES ARE FREGGIN EXPENSIVE!!!
Everyone that I have liked is nearly $2k!?!?!?!?! ITS SPRINGS AND CLOTH, WTF
Anyways, I figured out that all of these place have different names for the mattresses but they are the exact same thing. They do this so its hard to compare them. But if you know what to look for, you can still compare. For an example, Simmons beautyrest line, take note of the comfort level; that’s listed on all of them. I am looking at a “Plush-firm” comfort level. Then look at what “class” simmons rates them as (ie. classic, world class, exceptional). And from what i’ve found is they are the same after you figure these out.
I found a mattress set that I liked, “Simmons Beautyrest Cairo Plush-Firm” at two stores in the Fort, one was $1,500 the other was 1700. Same exact mattress. I found it online from authorized Beautyrest dealer for $850 w/free delivery.
I LOVE the “Simmons Black” line but I cant find them online for under $1,200. Granted we spend 1/3 of our lives in bed, but that is a decent chunk of change. It’s kind of interested that we really only like the Simmons brand. We haven’t found much else that we like…odd.
I am still not done looking, If you have any tips, tricks, or know anyone please let me know!!!
Does anyone use AOL as their ISP?
Does anyone out there still use AOL to connect to the internet? Im not talking about email or instant messaging, I mean as their sole provider to connect to the web…..
Do they still have “keywords”?
I hated those. Remember all the commercials a while ago? “For more information go to AOL keyword: CBS”
LOL
